Carbide drills, due to their special material and design, are mainly suitable for the following materials:

  1. Stainless steel: this is their main area of application. Stainless steel, due to its high hardness and toughness, is easily worn or broken by conventional drill bits when drilling. Carbide drills, on the other hand, have excellent wear resistance and cutting performance, enabling them to drill stainless steel efficiently and accurately.
  2. Non-ferrous metals: Although the hardness of non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum and zinc is relatively low, their good thermal conductivity and ductility also require drills with certain cutting ability and wear resistance. Cemented carbide drill bits can well meet these requirements.
  3. Some non-metallic materials: Some non-metallic materials with high hardness, such as certain plastics or composite materials, may also need to be processed with carbide drills.

It should be noted that although carbide drills have excellent cutting performance, it is still necessary to select the appropriate drilling parameters and drill type according to the specific material characteristics and processing requirements to ensure the processing effect and the service life of the drill. At the same time, for particularly hard or brittle materials, it may be necessary to use more specialized drills or processing methods.
